|AT 01 Bangkok by bike
The Bangkok by Bike tour is a perfect escape from the city and a very unusual introduction to a "different" Bangkok. Starting point is a side street off Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok's "urban jungle", but soon after the tour winds through the back alleys of some of Bangkok's lesser known streets, before crossing t he river to an area known as "Bang Kra Chao". This is a real step back, more in "time" than in distance. You are just a few kilometers from the hustle and bustle of the big city, in an area even the people of Bangkok hardly know, and you will be riding on elevated paths along canals and through orchards where the lifestyle has changed little in the past decades. You will be visiting an incense workshop to see how this local cottage industry operates and a fascinating temple that is more than 250 years old and has a unique roof made of teak wood. On weekends the tour stops at a delightful floating market. The cycling is 25 kilometers on very minor roads, pathways, through alleys, temples, gardens and tropical jungle and can be done by anyone who can ride a bike.
Included in the tour are refreshments and a mountain bike and helmet. There is no vehicle support on this ride.
