Continue by long-tailed boat through the canals of Thonburi, branching off into several narrow canals flanked by coconut plantations, fruit orchards, vegetable gardens, old temples and rural houses on stilts. TOUR HD 07: Vimanmek Mansion , Marble Temple & Jim Thompson House

This tour visits two of the most famous mansions to be found in Bangkok , an introduction to Thai art and architecture.

The world's largest building of golden teakwood, the “ Vimanmek Mansion ”, is located in the gardened estate of Dusit Park , not far from the Grand Palace . The 3-storey former royal mansion contains a large number of royal memorabilia and art objects. Afterwards vi sit nearby “Wat Benchamabopitr”, or Marble Temple , one of the finest and most elegant temples of the city that has been built with finest Carrara marble. You will finish the tour at the authentic Thai-style house once owned by Jim Thompson. The famous American and former CIA agent revived the Thai silk industry after WW II, before disappearing mysteriously in the Malaysian jungle. TOUR HD 08: Jim Thompson House & Weekend Market

A leisurely weekend tour, introducing Thai arts & crafts in various surroundings, using public transportation for parts of the tour.

You will start the tour at an authentic Thai-style house built by Jim Thompson, the famous American and former CIA agent who revived the Thai silk industry after WW II, before disappearing mysteriously in the Malaysian jungle. The traditional house today is home to one of the most tasteful collection of Thai Art. Continue by sky-train to Chatuchak Market, one of Bangkok 's most fascinating shopping experiences. Only open during weekends, you may stroll through an overwhelming maze of stalls, selling everything under the sky, from plants and life animals to handicrafts, furniture, designer cloths and fashion accessories.
